Welcome to the Main web of the OGC Public Wiki site.
Here you will find a little information by the public about OGC and its role in the community as well as information on its standards.
The Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. (OGC) is a non-profit, international, voluntary consensus standards organization that is leading the development of standards for geospatial and location based services. Through our member-driven consensus programs, OGC works with government, private industry, and academia to create open and extensible software application programming interfaces for geographic information systems (GIS) and other mainstream technologies. Adopted specifications are available for the public's use at no cost. Learn More at the OGC Website.
At OGC Network™ you will find the latest information on OGC-compatible software, services, and information models (e.g. GML profiles, SLD examples, etc.). From the site you can quickly locate OGC-compatible geospatial web services, the latest XML schema documents, discussion forums, conformance testing resources, and GML profile working areas.
The OpenGISŪ Reference Model (ORM) provides a framework for the ongoing work of the OGC. The ORM describes the OGC Adopted Document Baseline (ADB) focusing on the relationships between the documents. The OGC ADB consists of the approved OpenGISŪ Specifications as well as a number of documents currently under consideration in the OGC Specification Program.
