Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

WMS AUTO CRSs

This family of CRSs actually constitute CRS templates: they are not complete CRSs, but need to be completed with values for some particular parameters.

Example: AUTO 42001 requires ‘lat’ for latitude and ‘lon’ for longitude as additional parameters, to be provided as HTTP GET parameters. An example for a complete CRS based on AUTO 421001 is http://www.opengis.net/def/crs/AUTO/1.3/42001?lat=20&lon=30. For the avoidance of doubts, http://www.opengis.net/def/crs/AUTO/1.3/42001 is not a CRS that can be used, the additional parameters are mandatory.

See the WMS standard for these parameters, their meaning, and their expected syntax.
